Structure
We plan our activities using the principle of holism as our guide. Our daily schedules address the mental, physical and emotional needs of the people we serve.
PHYSICAL WELL-BEING ACTIVITIESActivities that promote physical health and nutrition. Some activities include:
• Visits to indoor track • Swimming • Walking to community destinations • Healthy meal preparation • Sports (hockey, basketball, etc.) • Nutrition training MENTAL WELL-BEING ACTIVITIESActivities that teach math, literacy and life skills. Some activities include:
• Transit / Pedestrian training • Math / Literacy • Library visits • Cooking / Baking • Life skills and independence training |
EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING ACTIVITIESActivities that encourage self-esteem, teach conflict resolution and maintain healthy relationships. Some activities include:
• Conflict prevention & resolution training • Volunteer work at non-profit organizations • Promote a positive self-image & boost self-esteem • "Coffee House" PROGRESSIVE ARTS ACTIVITIESActivities that promote creativity and imagination. We also visit places that expose individuals to art and culture.
• Visits to community theatre productions • LEAPP band practice • Jamming sessions • Drama • Visits to Canadian Opera Company & other concerts |
